Screen cleaning in Old Naples.

Older cottages here have a lot of small screens, and some have a screened porch on top of that. Many of those frames have been painted over or have swelled a bit over the years, so they don't always come out easily. We check each one before pulling it, and if a frame or the mesh looks too far gone to handle, we say so instead of forcing it.

Each screen is washed, rinsed with pure water and set back in its own opening. Doing screens and glass on the same visit matters here, because a few blocks from the beach a dirty screen drips salt and grit back onto a clean window the next time it rains.
