Driveways, walkways & pool decks

Paver cleaning and sealing in Naples.

Pavers cleaned evenly, the joints flushed and resanded, then sealed so the color holds and weeds stay out of the cracks.

Pavers are the first thing people see at most Naples homes, and the climate is hard on them. Summer rain keeps the joints wet for months, the shaded edges grow green algae, tires and oil drips darken the driveway, and every storm washes a little more joint sand out. Once the sand goes, the pavers start to shift and weeds move into the gaps.

Cleaning comes first. We use a surface cleaner rather than a bare wand, which cleans the whole area evenly instead of leaving stripes, then flush the dirt and growth out of the joints and rinse the edges, curbs and nearby walls. On softer stone and the painted or screened surfaces around a pool deck, we switch to the low-pressure approach we use for soft washing.

Sealing is what makes the clean last. After the pavers dry, we refill the joints with fresh sand and apply a sealer that locks the sand in, helps the pavers resist stains, and brings back their color. Sealed joints hold up better through the rainy season and give weeds and ants far less room to settle in.

Most homeowners do the driveway and entry together, and many add the pool deck and the screen enclosure with our lanai cleaning on the same visit. Tell us the areas and rough size and we'll get you a quote.

What’s included

  • Even surface cleaning

A rotary surface cleaner covers the whole driveway, walkway or deck at a consistent pressure, so it dries one even color with no wand stripes.

  • Joint flush

Dirt, algae and old broken-down sand are rinsed out of the joints, which is where most of the green growth starts.

  • Joint resanding

Fresh sand is swept back into every joint so the pavers stay locked in place and have less room to shift.

  • Sealing

A sealer is applied once the pavers are dry to lock the joint sand in, help resist stains and bring the color back.

How it works

  1. 01

Walk the area and protect what's nearby

We check the paver type and condition, note any stains, and wet down plants and nearby surfaces before we start.

  2. 02

    Clean and flush the joints

The surface is cleaned evenly, then the joints are flushed and everything is rinsed toward the edges and drains.

  3. 03

    Resand and seal

Once the pavers are dry, the joints get fresh sand and the sealer goes on. We'll tell you how long to keep cars and foot traffic off.

Common questions

Do I need sealing, or just a cleaning?
A cleaning on its own makes the pavers look new, but in Naples the joint sand keeps washing out and the algae comes back. Sealing after a cleaning holds the sand in and keeps the surface cleaner for longer. If the joints are still full and you just want the dirt off, a cleaning is fine.
How long before I can drive on it?
It depends on the sealer and the weather, so we'll give you the exact time on the day. Plan on keeping cars off overnight at minimum.
Can you clean travertine and pool decks too?
Yes. Travertine and softer stone get a lower-pressure approach so the surface isn't pitted or etched. See our pool deck cleaning page for how we handle decks under a screen cage.
