The Moorings is an established waterfront neighborhood set between Gulf Shore Boulevard and Crayton Road, with bay and Gulf access both close at hand. The homes here are mostly mature single-family — many built decades ago and updated over the years — so a given house can have a mix of original picture windows and newer additions, each weathering the coastal air a little differently. The salt arrives from two directions, off the Gulf to the west and the inland bay to the east, and settles across all of it.
