The Moorings sits on established waterfront between Gulf Shore Boulevard and Crayton Road, and many of its mature single-family homes have been added to over the years — a renovated upper floor, a vaulted addition, skylights set into a remodeled kitchen or bath. That high glass is often the newest and the best in the house, and it's the part that takes both the Gulf air off the beach side and the bay air off the inlets, depending on which way the room faces.

We reach the skylights, stairwell glass, and high view panes from the ground with the water-fed pole and finish with a deionized rinse, so the high glass dries spot-free with no ladders against a two-story home or a screen enclosure. On older houses where the upper glass has only ever been wiped reachable corners, that's often the first time a skylight has been cleaned right edge to edge.

We keep the high panes on the same every-two-month rhythm as the windows at eye level, so the upper floor never drifts hazy while the ground floor stays sharp.
