The Moorings is a mature neighborhood of mostly single-story homes with the low-pitch roofs and wide overhangs that mid-century Naples building favored, sitting on a narrow strip between the Gulf and Moorings Bay. Low pitch means water and debris move off slowly, salt air arrives from both directions, and the mature trees over many of these lots keep the sun off — a combination that streaks a roof early and keeps it streaked.

Our roof washing clears it with a solution that kills the algae and moss at the root and a low-pressure rinse, with nobody walking a low-pitch roof that is easier to damage than it looks. On the older shingle roofs in particular, pressure strips the granules that are the shingle's entire weather protection, which is a repair bill rather than a cleaning.
