On Marco Island the pool deck is not an accessory to the house, it is where the house is actually lived in. It also sits in salt air off the canals and the beach, collects fine sand from both, and stays damp in island humidity — which is why a Marco deck goes slick and grey faster than an inland one and why the growth returns sooner after a wash.

Our pool deck cleaning pre-treats the algae so it releases from the joints and the stone's pores, washes to the surface at the pressure the material takes — travertine and shell stone need much less than concrete pavers — and flushes the sand out of the joints rather than driving it deeper. Coping, cage kickplate line, and the slider threshold get detailed by hand.
