Screen cleaning on Marco Island.

On most Marco homes the biggest screen is the pool cage, and on a canal lot it faces the water. The mesh catches salt off the canal and the Gulf breeze, holds it, and stays damp longer than the air around it. When the afternoon rain comes through, it carries that salt down onto the sliders, and glass that was just cleaned looks streaky within days.

That's why we do screens and glass on the same visit. Window and slider screens come out one opening at a time, get washed on both sides and rinsed with pure water, then go back square. A lot of cages on the island have mesh that has spent years in the sun. If a panel looks too brittle to survive a wash, we tell you instead of handing it back torn.
