Park Shore has two kinds of pool deck and they need different handling. The single-family homes back toward Venetian Bay have paver and travertine decks that sit shaded and damp on the bay side; the Gulf Shore Boulevard buildings have large communal pool terraces, often in marble or polished stone, taking direct salt off the Gulf and heavy foot traffic on top of it.

Soft stone is pre-treated and washed at a pressure it tolerates, pavers take more, and the coping and edges are detailed by hand either way. On the terrace decks the salt film comes off with the organic growth in the same pass, since the film is what holds the damp the growth needs.
