Pelican Bay's mangrove preserve is a humidity engine, and the community's mature tree canopy keeps the sun off the roofs behind it. Between the two, the tile roofs across Oakmont, Pinecrest, Barrington, and the villa clusters spend most of the year damp on the shaded slopes, and dark algae streaking establishes fast enough that homeowners often think the roof has aged rather than grown something.
